Created by Sylvain Cacciatore, former member of the French Athletic team and winner of the Paris marathon in 1980, this mountain race is based on the circuit used for French Championship in 1989 and 1999.
The Trophy Cacciatore, organised by the sporting club, is opened to everyone, licensed and not licensed, walkers or runners. The departure take place from the “Place du Soleil” in Arc 1600 before the Golet slope, followed by the col des Frêtes at 2400 meters high before the arrival at Arc 2000. A friendly buffet will be provided where participant can celebrate their hike.
1200 particpants are expected for this race. The best runners will be there : for instance Arnaud Fourquin, several time French Champion, 11th at the Wold Chamionship and 10 times winner of the Cacciatore race. He is now teacher at the running club of les Arcs 1600 and is holding a fantastic record of the race. This time again some might try to beat him.
